Be Still and Breathe.

When I start working with new coaching clients, they are often surprised at the simplicity of the first piece of homework I give them.

Find 5 minutes a day to be still and breathe.

No electronics and no one else in the room.

You can meditate during this time if you like. Or you can just sit with your thoughts.

The only rule is to be still and breathe.

Why is this such an important first step?

Because, quite simply, the world is LOUD.

Everyone has a message they want you to hear. Your boss. Your coworkers. Your family. Your friends. The media. Advertisements. We're constantly sorting through SO. MUCH. NOISE.

In any season of life, that noise can be disorienting. But in seasons of life that have us asking big questions ("Who am I?" "What do I want?" etc.), that noise can completely throw your compass off if you aren't taking time to turn up the volume on the most important ones: the ones that come from within.

Your inner voice wants to answer the big questions for you. But, you have to tune in to hear it.

The next time you’re feeling lost, confused, or overwhelmed, give it a shot.

For 5 minutes a day, shut off all of your devices. Be still and breathe.

Now, listen.

What messages are you hearing within you?

Start there.

Enjoy the journey, my friends.
